Hej! Mitt namn är Tom Liljefors och jag är 19 år gammal. Gymnasietiden
tillbringade jag på tre olika skolor, Musikskolan Lilla Akademien,
Nelson-Mandela Schule i Berlin och Kungsholmens Gymnasium där jag år 2010 tog
studenten på IB-linjen.
Musik har länge varit ett av mina intressen som det är
väldigt kul att få jobba med. Ett annat intresse är entreprenörskap, jag har bl a
startat och drivit ett företag inom eventbranschen. Att bli en bra ledare är viktigt,
men det finns inte så många övningsobjekt för ungdomar i min situation. Därför är jag
tacksam för Unga Musik på Slottet, som givit mig en unik och välkommen möjlighet att
utveckla ledarskapsförmågan. Festivalen omfattar ju så mycket mer än bara konserterna,
t.ex. mottagningar, presentationer, administration, säkerhet m.m. Dessutom fick jag
och Peder ovanliga uppgifter, bl.a. att välkomna Kungaparet och 400
lyssnare till konserten.

Unga Musik på Slottet 2011
Hello! My name is Peder Wallenberg and I am 19 years of age. I’m the sort of person who has a lot of hobbies and truly enjoys trying new things. I spend a large part of my free time sailing and playing various sports including American football. I am raised in both Sweden and the United States. I started my high school career in England at The Leys School Cambridge and experienced two very adventurous years. Wanting to try something new I decided to move back home to Sweden (where I hadn’t permanently lived since I was a child) and pursue the IB-Diploma at Kungsholmens Gymnasium. I am going to pursue my interests within International Relations and Business by studying for my Bachelor’s Degree. In order to be successful within these fields of work it is vital to be a skillful and active leader. Being part of The Youth Music Festival at the Royal Palace (Unga Musik på Slottet) gave me an opportunity that I had never had before: to embrace the role of a leader.
Relationships and good communications are important aspects of leadership and
are a necessity for a successful leader. Leadership is something that I value
greatly and that is a big reason why I find this sort of opportunity so refreshing.
You get the chance to meet and work with many interesting individuals and you
are given responsibility for exciting (but sometimes unusual) tasks.
These tasks can be anything from finding a spotlight down in the old prison
cells, where Bellman* was held, to being the event host for a concert!
One of my favorite mottos is “Great leaders are made, not born”
* Famous 18th century poet and troubadour.
